What We Do at Freedom Hooves Therapeutic Riding Center

Freedom Hooves Therapeutic Riding Center has been providing services since 1999 and is devoted to serving children and adults with disabilities through equine-assisted therapies.
FHTRC is a proud member of PATH International, the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship. This means that we follow a set of guidelines that have been put into place by some of the best equine therapists in the industry. Here at Freedom Hooves we focus on therapeutic riding sessions. Rather than just being ponied around, those who take part in this type of therapy see a number of benefits in many areas. These include psychological, physical, social, and educational gains.

What is Therapeutic Riding?

A physical, cognitive, or emotional special need does not limit a person from interacting with horses. In fact, such interactions can prove to be highly rewarding, both physically and emotionally.

Benefits of Therapeutic Riding

Therapeutic Riding sessions at FHTRC are taught by PATH.Intl certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors. We accept riders 4 years of age and older. We are always open to emails and phone calls from those interested in riding with us!

Our Sincere Thanks

Like many non-profit organizations, keeping FHTRC running smoothly and growing gradually is a balancing act. Thanks to our enthusiastic staff, dedicated volunteers and generous donors, we are able to focus on helping people one ride at a time!

Thanks to the support and hospitality of D&J Ranch and Dane and Jenny Wadley, we have the use of a beautiful setting in which to operate. D&J Ranch includes both indoor and outdoor arenas, trails, stables, and pasture for our special herd of therapy horses. We are fortunate to share this wonderful facility with a few private boarders.

A great big “Thank You” to everyone who contributes to our mission and our passion!
